Dear “Religious” “Professional”,
If you are a “professional” such as a doctor, teacher, a pharmacist, or a Registrar, then you DO YOUR JOB and stop discriminating against people on your own religious grounds. If your job is a religious one then fair enough but these jobs are NOT.
- Doctors- refuse to refer for abortions, or carry out gender reassignment on religious grounds (although this maybe changing).
- Pharmacists refuse to prescibe the morning after pill on religious grounds
- Teacher walks out of training session on homophobia on religious grounds
- Registrar refuses to perform same sex marriages on religious grounds. (fair enough if religious marriage, but these are SECULAR MARRIAGES!)
If your faith is so important to you that you are unable to do your job professionally- then please get a different religious job more in keeping with your faith, and stop being so unprofessional. You are completely entitled to your beliefs but not when they affect your ability to carry out your secular job for all your patients, students, clients, customers etc.
